Who is this for

Yoga Teachers


​​Yoga Teachers who are looking for a new edge to their teaching.  This is great information to bring into your public classes.  And if you are offering private sessions in any capacity this will up-level what you're able to offer.  
Now you can take on that 'core flow' class with confidence!

Body Workers


Massage therapists and physiotherapists who are looking for exercises outside of the classic 'physiotools' to offer to their clients.  Pilates was initially designed as a rehab practice.  I spent 6 years working in a physio clinic as their yoga therapist, and the majority of our programs revolved around the Pilates method.

Movement Enthusiasts


​​Movers!  You love yoga, you love Pilates and your HIIT classes and you'd love to know how to intelligently and safely add some of these moves into your personal practice.

What You'll Learn

Pilates Principles


These are not so much the specific exercises themselves, as a discussion around how to approach the exercises and why we do them.  These principles will inform the way you move and teach in any style of class.

Props


​How to add props to the practice.  This will look like props that may appear in the studio, as well as how to bring in home accessories as props.

Pilates Exercises


​Key Pilates exercises.  How to add variety, what to look out for and how to adjust the exercise to meet the students who are in front of you.

Key Core Muscles


We refer to this area as the 'Pilates box'.  We'll talk about the key core muscles, their primary movement function as well as the role they play in proper posture.

​Learning Format


This virtual training is held live online and is recorded and available for replay for four months. Virtual sessions are comprised of the following elements:

  • Live online theory and practice
  • Informative breakdown of Pilates exercises
  • Breakout rooms for discussion and discovery
  • Pre-recorded Pilates classes to be done on your own time

Live online attendance is encouraged. However, for those who are unable to attend the live sessions there are protocols put in place to ensure you are understanding the content covered.

* 24 hours of live online in class training
* 6 hours of pre-recorded content
* 1 month access to my online Pilates studio which includes 1 weekly live class as well as a library of on-demand Pilates and movement classes.

FAQ

Is this a certification course?

This is a great introduction to the Pilates method and will prepare you to incorporate the Pilates exercises and principles into your practice and teaching.  However, this is not a comprehensive Pilates TT.  If that's what you're looking for, I can direct you to some great teachers.

Is there required reading?

There is no required reading, but a great resource is 'The Pilates Body' by Brooke Siler

Do I need to have any experience with Pilates?

While it's not necessary, it could be helpful to have experience with this practice in your body.  To assist with this, you will receive a 1 month Pilates membership to a diverse on - demand library of Pilates and movement classes.

What happens if I miss a class?

Great question!  If you miss a class, you will make the session up through the recording.  You will then send in your 5 key takeaways from that session.  If you have any questions, you will email them to your lead trainer.
